Sarah Cooper

Sarah Cooper is a seasoned Product Strategist with a diverse background in tech, design, and innovation, both in the U.S. and globally. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in new product development, human-centered design, and building mission-driven business.

She has held pivotal roles within various health tech startups and management consulting, guiding organizations in developing technology solutions across industries such as global health & development and life sciences. Her favorite product ‘wins’ include pioneering a breakthrough digital therapy for stroke rehabilitation with MedRhythms Inc; a mobile application for bipolar and depression treatment for community clinics in the US; a genomics research system in West Africa with the Broad Institute; and a nationally scaled digital community health product with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. 

Sarah has led the design and implementation of digital products in over 15 countries across Africa, Asia, and North America, through roles in B2B and B2C health tech startups and through collaborations with organizations like the UN, WHO, and International Rescue Committee. Her work spans several innovative products and new care models in mental healthcare, neurology, maternal & child health, and infectious disease.

Currently, Sarah is transitioning her focus to climate innovation and decarbonization, serving as a Climate Fellow at Terra. Here, she’s studying low carbon product design and engineering, including strategies to measure and reduce emissions from digital technologies.

Sarah holds a BA in International Affairs from Northeastern University, with a concentration in Social Entrepreneurship and Mandarin. She has extensive work experience in countries such as Ethiopia, Uganda, Nigeria, India, and China.

Originally from Cape Cod, Sarah now lives on Peaks Island where she’s renovating an old seaside house with her husband, Nate. She’s been glued to startup ecosystems everywhere she’s ever lived, from Boston, Washington D.C, and Portland, to far across the pond in Nairobi, Dhaka, and Shenzhen. They are the oxygen to humanity’s curiosity when we dare to try something differently and ask “how might we…”
