Lucy Barrett

Lucy Barrett is the Director of Americas at CREO Syndicate, a global, NYC-based firm working to deploy $100 billion of high-impact capital into sustainable investment opportunities and catalyze $900 billion into the marketplace by 2028.

Before joining CREO, Lucy was the Senior Manager of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI), where she was the founding hire to establish GMRI’s impact investment arm, including launching its partner venture fund, Bold Ocean Ventures. She designed and managed an international ocean and climate accelerator focused on AI-based solutions with the Roux Institute, along with a recurring early-stage ocean incubator. Prior to that, she was based in Amsterdam managing Investor Relations and Impact for Apollo Agriculture, a Nairobi-based agricultural fintech, where she directed R&D projects, managed debt and equity fundraising, and developed impact strategies.

Lucy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Bates College, and is thrilled to be back in the state raising her family. She previously served on Maine’s Conservation Law Foundation advisory board and is an alumna of Leadership Portland. She lives in Yarmouth, Maine, with her husband (a startup founder himself) and their two young kids.
