This two-part panel will explore the benefits and advantages of B Corporation certification, the national standard for mission-driven companies who balance profits with their social and environmental impact. A discussion will be moderated by Erika Neumann and include nationally recognized B Corporation expert, UNH’s Dr. Fiona Wilson, as well as leaders from Maine’s current B corporations and Maine companies in the process of certification. We will provide a road map on the certification process and the business case for companies to become B Corporations, and discuss whether Maine’s corporation statute should be amended to expressly permit B Corporations.
